I can’t believe an iceberg is currently doing more travelling than me. Not fair!!

Nothing too much to report this week.  Don’t get me wrong, been having a good week, catching up with friends and having lunches.  Also doing some job hunting and starting to get things ticking along.  Feeling the post-holiday frustration blues though and hoping that the motivation will kick in and I can start a bit of a new routine for the next couple of months very soon.  Not long till xmas folks!  Bought xmas crackers today!!

Celebrated dad’s birthday today with family. Had a nice meal and dad opened and kindly shared his bottle of Grange which he was given for his birthday 2 years ago. It was very smooth. After a few mouthfuls were were all feeling very warm and satisfied as the wine glided down. For dessert we had fun with a chocolate fountain that mum had bought, took a ton of chocolate but was very cool. We skewered everthing from strawberries to marshmallows and I even prepared a chocolate banana, much to everyone’s amusement, for another day. After a bit of a rest, we then had birthday cake, finished off the rest of the Grange with some fabulous brie cheese. Sooo full.

Was a great afternoon, went by very quickly and now is a week since I got back!  I feel a motivated week ahead. Lots to do and more people to catch-up with. And summer weather is fabulous.

Sunburnt already.  That is with sunburn cream and in only 21 degrees.  I am definitely not used to this aussie sun…

Went to one of my old haunts today, Brighton beach and from there walked to Glenelg, a short 1hr walk each way.  So pretty, amazing how you see a place in a ‘new light’ when you haven’t been there for a while. This is a place I have been many a time, especially when I lived down there, but I still love it…one of my fave spots in Adelaide.

Had a fabulous healthy lunch at the wrap bar, had a walk around and took a few atmospheric photos and scoped some ideas for my current photo project.  Also had a few phonecalls from some agencies, so have some registration meetings lined up for next week now, so at least I feel like I am rolling balls…

Also bough myself a few new clothes.  Funds are tight, but I am really over my outfits…really over them.  Needed a few new things to make me feel a bit less like a poor traveller

Heating up over the weekend.  Looking forward to some food, drink, family and friends.

Feeling a bit flat today. Do keep forgetting that I haven’t even been back a week yet…so probably continuing to put too much pressure on myself to get things done.  Did do a nice long walk today, from home to TTP and then after a few hours in the travel agent (mmm…yes) and lunch, then walked back.  Flies were massively annoying and it was quite warm even though not a hot day, so getting used to all that again. Dad’s birthday today. Happy Birthday Dad. His main celebration is on the weekend though.

Going to aim to lift the mood with a trip to the beach tomorrow.  Coffee at the beach. Yahoo!

Today was the first day of any real heat since I got back, about 32 degreees (sorry for those reading in the U of K)…I spent most of it chilling out and trawling the shops and having lunch and meeting the latest addition to the family of one of my friends. Lovely balmy evening and it is making my craving for the beach even stronger.  I am planning a visit to the old haunts at Glenelg/Brighton with camera on Friday at this stage. Started a bit of job hunting, a couple of appointments next week to register with agencies and organising a few more catch-ups and lunches.  All is good. Bit more ‘personal admin’ to be done tomorrow, bit more job hunting and I think I have enough energy now to do a bit of a walk as well. My goodness I can’t believe it is December already.

Been a few days, but I think that the jet lag is starting to ease.  Got back on Sunday morning (Oz time) after fairly smooth flying. A bit of turbulence on the second leg and crappy food, but the other legs were good and connections were tight but quick so not a lot of waiting around which was great. Met up with family at the airport and then had lunch with them as I tried to stay awake. Lasted till 6:30pm and then I could stay awake no more, and slept through with a couple of wake-ups until 8am. Last night went later, but woke at 4am and couldn’t get back to sleep, so still a bit of adjustment to do.

Spent the last few days exploring the local Westfield, yesterday with Dad and today with Mum and then catching up with people over the week. Job hunting will commence next week, along with some sort of exercise routine.  Thinking of delaying the gym (ie not spend the money) and work out a walking program instead. Did a few financial bits, have a hair appointment booked for next week and so slowly getting a few bits and pieces done…lots to do still but no hurry.

So, ongoing blogging.  I am not sure what I am going to do as yet. The next year will still have a lot of twists and turns and there are some big key decisions to be made over the next few months, so while the travel and work parts of the blog are not much content wise, there may still be a need to blog.  I will ponder and see what I think.

OK, this will be my last post from the UK for a while. Next time you hear from me I will be back on Aussie shores and probably the post will be title Jet Lag (there is always hope of sleeping..I hold hope!!). Today will be just hanging with Jeannette, down to the supermarket, coffee and that’s about it.  Should be meeting my friend for a lift to the airport around 3:30 and then the airport and travel treck back begins. Feeling quite excited today. Looking forward to seeing you all and for those in the UK, I will be back soon

Tasks for today are packing and cleaning the bathroom. Just when the sun has come out…Winter stuff staying here, summer stuff (what little of it) and paperwork and other bits and pieces coming back. Also been thinking about furniture…sell, give away, keep…

Getting restless and brain working overtime.  Need to chill, chill, chill.

PS – read back some old posts from this time last year yesterday…very interesting to see what was going on, state of mind etc.  Things can change a lot in 18 months can’t they.  Well, they have for me in the last 18 months for sure. Anyway, better go pack..
